London Boat Show 2013

Natalie, Sales & Marketing Assistant at Scanstrut, reports back from her visit to London Boat Show…

Being one of Scanstrut’s newest recruits I was really looking forward to the Boat Show season and London certainly didn’t disappoint this year. Considering the weather forecast and the negative feeling surrounding the 2013 show I was pleasantly surprised by the upbeat vibe and high footfall presented to me when I arrived on the opening weekend.

I had the pleasure of assisting one of our dealers, Marine Electronic Services (MES) with promoting and selling our Lifedge case over the course of the show and it was a big success!

As ever, the Lifedge plinth was an eye-catching display drawing customers of all ages to the stand. The footfall at the show exceeded 90,000, which was excellent considering the snow that threatened to cause havoc towards the end of the week.

After visiting a number of our dealers at their stands it was great to see that Scanstrut and Lifedge were represented well and the brand is continuing to grow in a positive manner.

Sam Taylor-Nobbs, (the Sales & Marketing Director from ICOM UK) said “fantastic Show and fantastic response from customers old and new. Love the new hall, it has an amazing atmosphere. We feel very positive going into 2013. We have had a huge increase in sales on 2012 and have over achieved our expectations. We have signed up for 2014.”

The large motorboats on show were an amazing spectacle inside the Excel centre and they certainly attracted the crowds. I was lucky enough to be invited to showcase the Lifedge case with SailTV by dunking the case into a large pool whilst discussing its main features and benefits – certainly an interesting experience!

The European show season has well and truly begun and everyone at Scanstrut is looking forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old ones!
